It is quite probable that the highest building in the word will be erected in Azerbaijan. Marketing Director of Avesta company Kana Guluzade informed on Tuesday (24 January) that the planned tower is to exceed the contemporary world’s tallest construction by 27 percent.
The designed building will be 1100 metres high, and will be also a part of a complex called Khazar Islands – 41 islands on the Caspian Sea, located 24 kilometres south of Baku. Kana Guluzade announced that within the compound there would be space for hotels and a huge shopping centre. The beginning of the construction works is scheduled for 2012, and will last five years.
At present, the highest building in the world is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. In the first quarter of 2012, works on the Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, are to be initiated. The Tower will measure more than 1000 metres.
